The 2020 Epinette checks in as mostly Merlot but includes 26% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot. Still resting in 70% new barrels, it has a beautiful blue and black-fruited profile as well as full-bodied aromas and flavors of bouquet garni, chocolate, and tobacco. With classic Red Mountain minerality as well as plenty of mid-palate depth, it’s a plush, round, opulent red blend that will keep for 15 years in cold cellars.
